Monte Vista Market

This is known to be a local favorite. The deli I feel is the main and only highlight unfortunately. I find their items to be pricey and sparse. It seems that every time I've shopped here it looks as if they are going out of business and/or their lacking stock and their produce section not all that fresh. The employees are very friendly and professional. You get a warm, "family" vibe upon entering here.

This is a Monterey staple when it comes to tri tip sandwiches. Tommy is the best at what he does there at his store and has been doing an amazing job keeping this high demand store up and running. If you haven't had the bbq tri tip sandwich on soft french with everything on it and Nana's potato salad, then you really haven't had a sandwich. These are the best deli sandwiches on the Peninsula. Above that they also have the best lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, bbq ribs, and the primest selection of meat that you can get in Monterey. Im telling you people, this is the Monterey community lunch time spot thats hidden in the cuts of the most historic area. Thank you Tommy for keeping the tradition alive.
